Spirare System Modules

Spirare is based on a modular design, and can easily be adapted to small and large networks. You can select from a range of additional  functions for your Spirare installation. The most popular modules are:

Spirometry Basic Module
Standard spirometry tests using the SPS310 and SPS320 ultrasonic spirometers. Includes expiration and inspiration tests, reversibility testing (Post BD), trend graphs and choice between different reference materials, such as ECSC and Gulsvik.

Optional Spirometry Modules

Airway Responsiveness, Exercise Challenge
Different exercise challenge protocols may be defined. The module also includes support for the Aiolos dry air regulator.

Airway Responsiveness, Pharmacological Agent Challenge
Multiple protocols for challenge testing are supported, including the use of metacholine, acetylcholine and mannitol (Aridol™).
Mannitol

Support for other spirometers
In addition to the Spirare SPS310 and SPS320 sensor, the software may be used with the ndd EasyOne and some Micro Medical spirometers.

ECG Basic Module
Recording and analysis of rest and rhythm ECG recording using the Spirare SPE100 and SPE101 ECG recorders. Includes automatic interpretation and comparison of QRS complexes.

Included ECG Modules

ECG Rest Expanded
This module includes options for ECG rhythm recording of longer duration, with extra rhythm analyses.

ECG Compare
This module allows the user to compare and super-impose complexes from different ECG recordings.

ECG Advisory Interpretation
The interpretation suggested by the module can easily be overruled or modified by the user.

Noise Filter
Different software controlled filters can interactively be turned on and off during ECG recording. The filters reduce noise that interferes with the ECG recording.

Pacemaker Detection
The Pacemaker Detection module enhances the pacemaker signal in the displayed ECG graph, making it easier to evaluate the function of a pacemaker.

Broken Lead Detection
This module enables a panel in the recorder window with visual indication of connection status. Green signal indicates that the connection works properly and red signal indicates that the lead is disconnected or broken.

Anonymous ECG Recording
This module allows emergency ECG recording of anonymous patients. The proper patient data may be registered later.

Multiple Reports
The user can choose between different report layouts for printed reports. The layouts differ with respect to the presentation of ECG channels as well as various additional information included in the report.

Optional ECG Modules

Emergency ECG
This module is developed for emergency ECG in mobile units such as ambulances, ships, and offshore units. ECG recordings and patient information can be sent as email attachments to a cooperating hospital or medical unit for evaluation. Please refer to the Spirare emergency brochure [pdf] for further details.

Export Documents
This module allows ECG recordings from external sources to be imported and viewed in Spirare.

ABPM (Ambulant Blood Pressure Monitoring) Module
Short and long duration (24-48 hours) blood pressure monitoring using the Spirare ABPM monitor. Includes choice of protocol, functions for visualization and interpretation of measurements, and evolution of blood pressure over time.

Other Modules
We also offer other modules with more advances features. The most important of these are as follows:

Client/Server Database
Advanced client/server database functionality for LAN, WAN and Terminal Server solutions. Please refer to the Spirare network brochure [pdf] for further details.

Portable Unit
This module enables ECG, ABPM and spirometry recordings on an offline portable computer, or when the network connection is unavailable. In offline mode, recorded data are stored locally. When the computer is re-connected to the network, the stored data may (manually) be synchronized with the central database. Please refer to the Spirare portable brochure [pdf] for further details.

Portable Unit Autoconnect
This is an extension to the Portable Unit Module. With this module, the synchronization happens automatically when the network becomes available. This is particularly useful in hospitals using wireless network, with varying reach ability.

Patient Referral System
This module allows for patient data to be encrypted and transferred to another Spirare user.

Statistical Analysis
This module allows for statistical analyses of patient data based on advanced selection criteria.

Export Data
This module adds export functions to Spirare that allows you to export data for future statistics analysis, etc.
